5 GO-TO Healthy Snacks

1. Cucumbers- High in nutrients, and low in calories Cucumbers are about 95% water, so it's definitely a good way to make yourself feel “full.” Plus there are many other health benefits as well! Cucumber salad: -Julienne cucumbers -Drizzle a little rice vinegar -Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top! VIOLA! There you have it, cucumber salad just like the one you get at a sushi bar. 2. Edamame Soy Beans- A HIGH-PROTEIN SNACK. It contains a lot of nutritional value such as: omega-3, iron, zinc, vitamin C, and etc., which are vital for our bodies. Soybeans are a little higher in calories but it will help you stay fuller longer and essentially reduce your caloric intake. Spicy Garlic Edamame: -Steamed Edamame -Sautee, in a little bit of olive oil -Add a little dash of soy sauce -Add sambal chilli paste -Optional: Add grated parmesan cheese OR eat them plain! I like to add a little bit of heat to everything. 3. HALO-top- Ice cream on a diet, what? That was my initial thought. They weren’t joking, it actually tastes like ice cream unlike Artic zero and other low calorie claiming desserts. My ultimate favorite flavor is, birthday cake. I have yet to try more flavors, but it is delicious and the deal breaker: YOU CAN EAT THE WHOLE PINT! 4. Rice Cakes- Fat-free & low in calories, its perfect for snacking! Each cake is about 50 calories-not bad! However they do not contain any nutritional value, but WHATEVER! They’re so dang good. I carry them in my backpack or purse. I always grab the caramel corn flavor! 5. Sweet potato-Very nutritious, high in fiber, and almost no fat! Sweet potatoes are known as a “slow carb” meaning it takes longer to digest! That’s why it is filling. Another one of those you’ll find yourself fuller longer type of food but its true! According to studies, there are many health benefits: healthy skin, anti-cancer, and cholesterol levels. SOLD! Sweet potato fries: -Heat oven to 450 -Slice them into whatever shape you’d like -Sprinkle olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika -Bake them for about 20 minutes, or until desired texture -Dip them in some ketchup or BBQ sauce!
