I'm not sure how many of you actually read any of these posts...If you're reading this, I love you!!! I don't really share anything personal on my blog a majority of the time, so I apologize beforehand for this rant! If you're having a bad day, its okay, you're not alone (: Social media can be overwhelming to look at. Are everyone’s lives exactly how they portray themselves on social media platforms? Reality is, most likely not! We live in a world where everything is exposed online such as, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, SnapChat, and etc. The Internet promotes how we should be, how we should look like, or how we should live life, and can cause us to forget who we, “really are.” To be honest with you, I fall in that category without a doubt. "What caption should I put...What filter looks the best...What angle...Wait, which way has the best lighting." We try to make our profiles as a representation of ourselves, but to tell you the truth, its not always rainbows and butterflies, I’ll give you that much. Social media has made us obsessed with making life look like pure bliss. In real life, BAD days do exist and ITS OKAY!! We only grow from experiences. Sometimes I think we need these "bad" days as a wake up call. It allows you to realize how strong you've grown...a new, wiser, better version of YOU! The good always comes with some bad. A train of thought, but wouldn't it be weird if life was always easy? Don’t get me wrong, there are many moments where everything is great and want to share with others, it's LITERALLY a rollercoaster, but f’real (lol). It wouldn't be AMAZING, without the imperfections too, as clique as it sounds. Everyone is always going through some kind of tough time in life; whether it involves family, friends, school, work, or loved ones. Being 100% transparent, what I’m trying to come across with this is, you’re not ALONE. You may feel like no one understands your situation, and feel like complete s*** because everyone else is having the time of their life, but we all STRUGGLE and go through tough times. If I asked someone, "How are you?" You know they will always respond with, "Good, thank you." Will they really tell me, most likely not, I will never know! We’re just good at hiding it. Know that we are all fighting the same battle just in a DIFFERENT way.
Don’t let social media fool you!! You can only make your own happiness.
